MANILA, Philippines — Former Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday called for more supporters to join in providing relief to residents of Catanduanes reeling from the damage caused by Super Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi).
Pepito made its first landfall in the vicinity of Panganiban, Catanduanes on Saturday night, according to the state weather bureau.

“Our teams are actively deployed in Viga, Panganiban, and San Andres, delivering assistance where it is needed most. We are also coordinating with other volunteer organizations in neighboring municipalities to expand our reach,” Robredo’s Facebook post read.
Article continues after this advertisement“Communication in the area remains a challenge, but we are doing everything we can to provide timely support,” she added.
Article continues after this advertisementRobredo said her team is working closely with the San Andres Volunteer Network, led by Konsi Joal Cocjin, to provide hot meals and assess the best ways to support the municipalities most affected by Pepito.
Article continues after this advertisementShe also spoke with Catanduanes Governor Joseph Cua to inform him of Angat Bayanihan Volunteer Network’s efforts to mobilize in the area.
“Our deepest gratitude goes to our volunteers, who, despite being impacted by #PepitoPH themselves, have selflessly stepped up to extend help and care to those in need,” Robredo said.
